This next set of photos cover Thursday, Friday and Saturday when it was very windy with heavy showers and not very nice to be out in !
To start off here is the full set of photos of the Lifeboat rescue off Porthcressa
This French yacht was being blown towards the shore at Porthcressa, when we arrived the tow line had just been passed between them by the little Y boat that had been put down by the LifeboatOne of the crew climbing on board the yacht - I gather there was a certain amount of difficulty as the Yachtsman spoke little English !
Trying to push the yacht a bit further out as the wind was so strong it was being pushed in and the tow line was still attached to the front of the Lifeboat
Making sure that the tow line is on securely
Really wild out there, I was struggling to hold the camera steady
More pushing
Nasty moment for the little Y boat
It started to pour with rain and we carried on walking round The Garrison - as we got to the far end there was The Lifeboat "The Whiteheads" towing the yacht with the little Y boats being towed behind that - with her crewman on board the yacht - presume it would have been too tricky to try to recover it. As I said before this was the same sailor in the same yacht that they did the same rescue of on the same day last year.
