Saturday 16th June

For those who haven't seen it, this is the large conservatory where we have most of our meals at the Star Castle. Since there are more guests than can be accommodated in the Castle Dining Room (which serves mainly meat dishes and is a little more formal) they serve mainly fish in the conservatory under the ripening grapes on the massive vine which enters to the right and covers the whole ceiling. A lovely spot both for breakfast and dinner.

    1. It sure is Betty, in the morning it's so light and airy and the sun is round the seaward side in the evening. We always arrive to green grapes and leave with black ones, almost ready for harvesting. The Castle is a Grade 1 listed building, so cannot be messed about with ! The Garden Rooms where we stay were built during the war to house troops and have been improved over the years, to now provide luxury accommodation. Sue
